Please don’t trash the mountain!

Snow in Southern California attracts a LOT of visitors! After our big storm we had snow around for weeks, with hundreds of visitors on the weekends. All of the tourists are great for the few small businesses, and it is great to see people have a good time with their families out in the snow…however…the amount of trash left behind is staggering!
Well, I was complaining about the trash to the students in the school, and we came up with the idea of cleaning up what we could! We talked about Isaiah 66:1 “This is what the Lord says, ‘Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool…'” and how we should be good stewards of this gift that God has given us. So we set out to pick up some trash! They did an amazing job! I would say that they picked up 60-100 pounds of trash!!! There was everything from broken sleds, to beer bottles, to dirty diapers! These kids left thier nice, comfortable environment to get out and serve the community, and to clean the environment! I was very proud of them!

Thanks to Robert for stopping and taking all of the trash from us while we hiked back to the school!!!
