Wild Animals!

No, I’m not talking about the students, or the deer that came bounding through my front yard Tuesday morning, but rather a visit from 3 zoo keepers from the Wild Animal Park.  We are lucky enough to have been “adopted” by the mammal department at the park.  What does that mean?  It means that we get to have visits from the park, and also get to have incredible visits to the park!  Tuesday morning, Andrew, Kim and Kevin (all keepers at the WAP) came up to tell us all about their careers and all the amazing animal that they get to work with!

We learned all about different animals, and also had the chance to observe and touch 3-banded armadillos.  One of the favorites of the student’s was the roping lesson that Andrew gave us.  It was a lot of fun!  Next time we get to go to the park and learn about animal husbandry, and will hopefully get to tour the Vet Hospital.  Everyday is an adventure up here!

  1. I bet the kids had a lot of fun!

  2. Sounds like lots of fun and learning combined! How great that the WAP has adopted your school. Next time, let us know about it so we can come up. 🙂
